Khon Kaen

Khon Kaen was founded by Rajakruluang in 1783 during the reign of King Rama I. Some artifacts have shown that the area was dominated by dinosours millions years ago. The area was occupied by people in various cultures during the prehistorical era until it was expanded by the ancient Khmer Empire in the 12^th century. Before reaching to its present location at Nuang Kaw in 1879, its main city has been moved six times. Since the beginning of the 20^th century, Khon Kaen has become an admitristrative centre of the country.
