Discover three of Bangkok's finest temples: Wat Traimit houses a striking 3-metre tall Golden Buddha image - a gleaming, 5-ton figure of solid gold. Wat Pho houses the highly revered giant Reclining Buddha and traditional massage school, while Wat Benjabophit is famous for its elegant, white marble facade and Buddha images lining the cloister walls behind the main chapel.

A morning flight takes us to Sukhothai, the first capital of the Kingdom of Siam. There, you will be taken on a guided tour of Sukhothai Historical Park to see important historical monuments like Wat Mahathat, Wat Si Chum and Wat Sri Sawai. The almost 200 ruined chedis date back to the 13th Century, an era known as the golden age in Thai history, and are still in a remarkable condition.

Today, say goodbye to the temples for a morning as we head to Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, the Tonle Sap. Board a local boat and visit floating villages and flooded forests, before heading back to Siem Reap for a rest. (NOTE: Due to low water levels during the dry season, the boat trip is only possible from June to March. However an alternative floating village at Chong Kneas can be arranged instead).This afternoon hop on a local tuk-tuk and prepare to be awed by the magnificent Angkor Wat. This temple complex is considered the masterpiece of Khmer architecture and contains numerous bas-reliefs depicting scenes from the Ramayana.

Today, explore the temples of the Small Circuit. The most illustrious of these is Ta Prohm, built in the mid 12th to early 13th centuries. Ta Prohm is unique that it has been left largely as it was found: overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground. This makes the ‘Tomb Raider Temple’ one of the most picturesque and memorable of the Angkor temples. Your visit will also include Banteay Kdei, a Buddhist monastery from the late 12th Century, and Srah Srang, also known as the “pool of ablutions”.
Enjoy some time at leisure until it is time for your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
