Khao Man Gai (chicken and rice)

Khao Man Gai is a most popular street dish which you can find anywhere in Thailand. It is cheap, short, easy-to-make and quite like Hainanese chicken and rice, the well-known cuisine of Southeast China and Singapore, from which it originated.

In the Thai version, poached chicken enjoyed with rice which is cooked with oil and garlic in the watery chicken broth. The slices of cooked chicken, a bowl of broth, a dip sauce processed from chopped chilies, yellow bean paste and thick soy sauce are served with rice which makes an ideal dish for your meal. All ingredients are very simple, but they combine harmoniously together, accompanied by peeled and sliced cucumber and cilantro.

Khao Man Gai is the favorite dish for many Thai people. Chicken is boiled to be tender and its broth is used to cook rice, this make it not only delicious but also high cholesterol. The fragrant taste of chicken broth, appetizing sweet and tasty sauces, it is the ideal midday snack.
