Moo Sa-Te (Grilled Pork Sticks with Turmeric)
Moo Sa-Te is a delicious and popular cuisine of Thailand, also one of 10 Thai well-known dishes loved by foreign visitors. It is a tempting appetizer made from grilled pork stick enjoyed with a rich juicy sauce which uses curry powder and turmeric.
Moo Sa-Te hosts a sweet-flavored hors d’oeuvres which will wake up any sleeping taste bud. It has different recipes containing pork, chicken, vegetable and beef style employing tofu or soy protein strips. This juicy grilled meat sticks are often served with twice sauce dips: the first is a mildly tasty thick sauce processed from coconut milk, ground peanuts and curry powder and the second is a sauce of sweet and sour vinegar made from pepper, chopped shallots and cucumber to reduce the oiliness of the dish.
Moo Sa-Te has actually origin from Java, Indonesia and has become popular in the region of Southeast Asia like Brunei, Malaysia and Thailand. It gradually develops and appears in almost Thai restaurant, attracts a lot of visitors all over the world come to enjoy. You also find the dish on the street vendors, street-side restaurant, in a luxury restaurant of Thai or even in a traditional festival and celebration.
