Judaism is probably the religion with smallest population in Thailand. The first imprint of Jewish practitioners in the kingdom can be traced back from the 1800s; most of them came as merchants traveling throughout the East.

One century later, the Jewish population witnessed an upsurge in the 1950s and 60s with the arrival of Jews from America, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran. In 1964, the Jewish Community of Thailand was established.

It is this religion that brings two countries of Thailand and Israel together. Thai-Israel Friendship Foundation (TIFF) was founded in 1972 with great devotion to a wide range of development and cultural topics, chiefly early childhood education.

Although Buddhism becomes the primary and state religion, Thais always stands for the freedom of religion. Thai king is required to be a Buddhist under the constitution, but monarchs are consistently entitled "Upholder of All Religions". Consequently, the government financially support for the construction and restoration of wats, monasteries, mosques, synagogues and churches.
